On January 12, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti, leaving 316,000 people dead and another 895,000 homelesss, according to reports from the Caribbean country’s government. On the destruction’s second anniversary Jerry Wonda and Wyclef Jean, founders of the Yele Haiti Foundation, released “Hours After The Quake: Picking Up The Dead in Search of The Living.” In the 19 minute documentary, the former Fugees front man and his foundation chronicle the search for survivors through rubble and clearing of bodies in the streets. Yele has provided people with food, supplies, and work in the recovery effort over the past two years.
