Louis Vuitton presented on June,1st in Paris his case especially designed to carry the World Cup Trophy to South Africa.
All French luxury luggages brand’s top executives were in LVMH auditorium to present the case to a hundred journalists audience. This unique case is a special order from Fifa to Louis Vuitton. The brand exceptionally didn’t ask for money to international football federation, since they hoped to take advantage of the media exposition during the competition.
The case has been handmade by three artisans. It took more than 100 hours of work. It weighs 6.2 kg and has a strengthened handle to bear the weight of the trophy. There are actually two cases for two trophies. One stands in FIFA’s head office, and another one will leave with the winner of the competition.
The special packaging for the trophy has been presented by American supermodel Naomi Campbell. This unique partnership is set to continue until next World Cup in Brazil, in 2014.
