Following the success of her worldwide hitWaka Waka (This Time For Africa) the official anthem for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the singer Shakira has revealed her newest single, Dare La La, to be released on the official world cup compilation; The 2014 FIFA World Cup Official Album.
To promote the festive song, the ‘calianté’ Colombian recruited some of the world’s best football playersto participate in the video, notably Neymar, Fabregas, Messi and Abidal, as well as her partner Gerard Piqué (whom she met during the video clip for Waka Waka in 2010).
The song will be tough competition for the official World Cup anthem, We Are One (Ola Ola) by Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez that has faced heavy criticism for being not only incredibly bad, but also for its words, sung mainly in English and Spanish, leaving only a few lines in Portuguese to the singer Claudia Leitte. Internet users hit back at the decision to make the song this years official anthem, with the hashtag #VoltaWakaWaka, demanding the former hit be reinstated for theWorld Cup in Rio!
