All’s well that ends well after Wimbledon lost its Hawk for four days! Believe it or not, but the English tournament, like the French Open, uses a bird of prey to chase away pigeons who feel like venturing onto courts. Wimbledon’s is called Rufus and he was stolen during the first week of competition.
The owner of the bird, along with police, launched a search campaign on social networking sites, creating the hashtag – #findRufus – to share information on the missing bird! And it worked! Four days after his disappearance, Rufus was found safe and sound in an RSPCA shelter, and all that thanks to the almost 2,000 followers on Rufus’s Twitter account.
