Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston might not be able to meet the deadline of her big comeback effort. The lauded diva, who had been dubbed “The Voice”, has been mounting a comeback for years and after achieving record breaking success with the motion picture “The Bodyguard” Houston is reportedly nearing completion.

Clive Davis, Houston mentor and friend, even admitted how excited he is about the project. “You wait for the material to justify a new album… it’s come in,” Davis said earlier this year.

With the excitement building and Houston reportedly nearing completion, sources say the diva may miss the all too important Grammy Award deadline of August 31. The submission period deadline for this year has been advanced a month earlier with the Grammy’s set for January 31, 2010, instead of the usual month of February.

Due to this situation, columnist Roger Friedman said that everyone from Houston to Mariah Carey is working hard to finish their albums.
