Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been elected Premier League’s player of the year, and succeeds to his team-mate Ryan Giggs.
It’s his third individual award since he joined Manchester United in 2005. He already won two awards for the Young Player of the Year in 2005 and 2006. This year he ended at the first place, right above Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and Arsenal’s incredible midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
“It’s a great feeling to win the Player of the Year award because the winner is elected by the other Premier League’s players,” said Rooney. He added that he was really proud to receive this honor.
James Milner got Young Player of the Year award. Even though Rooney’s championship is ended yet because of an injury, both players should be in English for the next World Cup in South Africa.
