Usher

Usher’s anticipated single “Papers” was released on Monday, October 5.

The track, produced by Sean Garrett, has been inspired by the R&B superstar’s real-life drama. The title “Papers” referred to the singer’s divorce papers that he is “ready to sign” according to the song’s intimate lyrics. Throughout the song Usher does not hold back about his feelings, with honest and at times brutal lyrics he sings his side of the story and about what made his marriage a failure.

The singer recently filed for divorce from his estrange wife Tameka Foster Raymond after two years of marital problems.

During their relationship, Foster was the target of repeated media attacks regarding her age and looks. Many observers thought that she was too old to be Usher’s wife, and that she had too much control over his career.

Earlier this year, the couple seemed distant to each other. Usher was even spotted partying hard in Paris without Foster, shortly after she suffered a heart attack while having plastic surgery in Brazil.

Usher filed for divorce in June 2009, and he is now focusing on the release of his upcoming sixth studio album, “Monster,” due in December 2009.
