US Charts Review

This week on the charts, no new releases, but we do have the latest on who’s still hot and who’s not.

As we breeze through two American bands – who debuted into the top two spots – and Taylor Swift, we find our beloved Nicki Minaj, repping for the urban contenders. “Pink Friday” sold 32,877 into #4. Bruno Mars sold 32,334 for “Doo-Wops & Hooligans,” which earned the #5 position this week. Rihanna dropped from #5 to #7 for “Loud,” which sold 29,233. Kanye West closes up the top #10 with “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” which barely made the cutoff at #9 with 26,199 sold.

Katy Perry and her “Teenage Dream,” sold 23,597 into #13 and Eminem dropped from #8 and followed at #14 for “Recovery,” which sold 21,654. Down six spots, R. Kelly sold 17,744 into #20 for his comeback effort “Love Letter.” Jamie Foxx did the same as he moved out #15 into #21 for “Best Night of My Life.” The album sold 16,805 into #21. Black Eyed Peas’ “Beginning” sold 16,654 into #22, as T.I. has “No Mercy” in at #23 with 14,292 sold. Keyshia Cole remains content at #25 for “Calling All Hearts,” which sold 13,428.

Lil Wayne sold 12,193 into #27 for “I Am Not a Human Being.” Michael Jackson’s self-titled album, “Michael” took one of the hardest falls this week. Down ten spots “Michael” sold 11,255 into #31. Keri Hilson fell as well. Dropping from #23 to #32, Miss Keri’s “No Boys Allowed” sold 11,205.

Somewhere down the charts, Ke$ha popped up at #39, after dropping from her previous position of #32. Her album “Cannibal,” sold 10,132. Cee Lo Green sold 9.854 for “Lady Killer,” which took the #41 position. Surprisingly, Justin Bieber dropped from #36 to #43 and only sold 9,786 for “My World 2.0.” With his new movie coming out, he’s going to be king of the charts again in no time. Diddy-Dirty Money remains content in #45 with 8,135 sold for “Last Train to Paris.” Lady Gaga takes #48 for
“The Fame,” and sold 7,808. Ke$ha closes the charts right at #50 for “Animal,” selling 7,617.

No releases for next week, but check back to see if Kanye West’s lash out at the media will see him drop out of the top ten?!
