UGK

“Underground kingz” is UGK’s seventh album.

It has been pushed back several times but this album will probably be their introduction to a broader audience. UGK put the South on the map in 1988 with their first album release “The Southern Way.”

Since then, the group has maintained a presence in the rap world with albums, mixtapes, indi releases and cameos on numerous prominent artists’ tracks. In 2000, they made a high-profile appearance on Jay-Z’ “Big Pimpin.” In 2005, Bun B released his first solo album “Trill.” The CD debuted at # 6 on the Hot 200 Billboard Charts, picked at # 1 on Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop album Chart and has been certified gold. Pimp C released his solo album “Pimpalation” in Summer 2006. The title debuted at # 3 on the Top 200 and at #1 on the Hip-Hop and R&B Charts according to Billboard.
Pimp C and Bun B the duo that makes up UGK bounce back on the scene in a big way with their double-disc offering, Underground Kingz.

Fueled by the success of their hit single, “Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You),” this album looks like it might finally bring Pimp C and Bun B the mainstream success that has eluded them.
