TRACE Urban was voted the “Coolest TV Channel” and “Coolest Music Channel” for the third consecutive year in a recent research study. Over 6,000 South Africans between the ages of 8 and 22 from seven provinces were polled on a variety of topics. The survey was conducted by the Sunday Times, South Africa’s largest weekly newspaper, as part of their Generation Next 2012 Survey.
Olivier Laouchez, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TRACE, said: “6 Awards in 3 years! We are incredibly proud of this new vote of confidence. Our teams, in South Africa and abroad, work permanently to deliver the best channel experience to South African youths. We will work even harder to get our new sports celebrity channel, TRACE Sports, recently launched on DStv (129) to appear in next year’s ranking in its category.”

TRACE Urban gives unique insight into urban music and culture and airs the most popular urban music genres, focusing on the latest in R&B, hip-hop, dance, rhythmic pop and urban South African beats.
