On May 25, 2011, music channel TRACE Urban was voted “Coolest TV Channel” and “Coolest Music Channel” for the second consecutive year by the youth of South Africa in the Sunday Times Generation Next 2011 Survey in Johannesburg.

The survey was carried out in February and March 2011 among 7,242 South African youths, aged 8 to 22, in the urban and peri-urban environments of six provinces. HDI Youth Marketeers conducted the research analysis in conjunction with academic validation partner Monash South Africa, and statistician Arien Strasheim.
