The Roots

Philadelphia Hip-Hop gurus The Roots have finally released their new album “How I Got Over,” which becomes their ninth studio album since 1993. After receiving many positive reviews from music critics (Entertainment Weekly gave the album an A- rating), fans will finally be able to get their hands on the long awaited project.

Since working for the American television show “Late Nights with Jimmy Fallon” as the back up band for the past few years, many were skeptical that the band had lost their edge. But their gig with Jimmy Fallon hasn’t tamed the Philly boys one bit, delivering on this album all the wonderful funk/soul/jazz vibes that fans have come to expect. For the album, the genre-blending hip-hop group have recruited John Ledgend, Joanna Newsom, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, and the ladies of the band Dirty Projectors to play substantial roles in it.
