The 50th Annual Grammy Awards

The Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike that started on November 5, 2007 has already crippled the film, television and radio industries with approximately $1 billion in losses and counting. Its latest victim was the Golden Globe Awards, which was cancelled.

Music lovers, however, get a break. The WGA has come to an interim agreement with the producers of the Grammy telecast that will allow the top U.S. music awards ceremony to continue in style.

“The Recording Academy is gratified by the WGA’s decision to grant the interim agreement we requested for our milestone 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards,” says Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow in a statement. “Having our talented writers on the team further ensures the highest level of creativity and innovation, something our audience has come to expect every year.”

Expect great live performances from Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Rihanna and many more!
