T-Pain

T-Pain has apologized to Jay-Z in “More Careful,” a song set to Drake and Trey Songz’ “Successful” beat.

T-Pain was criticized in September after a video hit the internet of the “In Love With a Stripper” singer deejaying at a party. During his set he took time out to say a special “f*** you” to Jay-Z. The Rappa Turnt Sanga felt Hova’s song “D.O.A (Death Of Autotune)” was a direct shot targeting him, due to his extensive use of the Autotune. T-Pain then decided to retaliate through this unexpected and public rant…

Rapper Fabolous, a regular twitter jokester, quickly took side with Jay-Z and jumped into the mix tweeting a series of T-Pain disses addressing T-Pain on twitter, including “#tpain better stop playin for JayZ buys every autotune machine in the world & end his career…” and “#tpain better give Mr. Monopoly back his top hats!!”

After all this mess, T-Pain decided to apologize, releasing “More Careful.” The chorus of the track displays a reflective T-Pain singing “I got the money/the money and the cars/the cars and the clothes/and unless I wanna let it all go/ I just gotta be, I just gotta be more careful.” In the song T-Pain talks about his feelings about his friends, girlfriend and music industry, but doesn’t address Jay-Z specifically until the last verse.

He raps “Aight, so let’s talk about the Jay sh–/ Some days I wish that I ain’t never say sh–/ And Diddy said ain’t no excuse for what I did/ But I felt like he was knocking the same sh– that feeds my kids/[…]/But by all means, don’t take this as a diss or hatin’/ I just wanna explain my side of the situation/So if you knew how much respect that I have/ You’d know I’m a real n—a when I say, ‘My bad.'”

Jay-Z later offered a response to T-Pain’s comments telling New York Power 105.1’s Ed Lover “I made it very clear I wasn’t talking about him [on ‘Death of Autotune’]. I think he’s talented, I don’t think he needs auto-tune to sell records but if that’s his prerogative — Everybody has a birthday. They don’t have much else to say, they can’t attack my credentials as an artist or my lyrics as an emcee.”

So, is the beef squashed now or will Jigga reply with another track?
