Spike Lee is directing an upcoming documentary about Michael Jackson. The film, titled “Bad,” will profile the King of Pop’s famous album of the same name and the subsequent world tour. The documentary, which is scheduled for release on the album’s 25th anniversary on, will feature 40 interviews with Jackson’s friends, co-workers, and musicians such as Kanye West who have been influenced by the iconic musician.
Lee recently wrote about the documentary “I’m more than just a huge fan of Michael Jackson…And having the chance to actually know him and work with him, I deeply care about his legacy…With this ‘Bad’ project I was able to uncover just what made this such a huge, important coming of age in his career…And unearth compelling stories surrounding the making of the album, the long awaited follow-up to Thriller – the best-selling album of all time – the short films and the tour that may have never seen the light of day.”
Lee previously directed the music video for “This Is It,” a posthumous song of Michael’s.
