Soulja Boy ‘Does It Big’ with his new album promotional commercial featured below. The 19-year-old rapper has officially announced that his third studio album is set to be released on July 28th of this year. Originally titled “The DeAndre Way,” Soulja Boy has opted to shorten the album title to just “Dre.”
With only a month until the album’s release, statements have been made that it will feature artists Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and even Kanye West. Soulja Boy recently explained what it was like working alongside West in the studio to: “Him showing me a lot of stuff I didn’t know [and] me showing him a lot of stuff he didn’t know,” Soulja Boy described. “He had an ear for my sound. Of course I had an ear for all the stuff he did. Genius!… It was three different samples that we was working on. On one of them, he was like ‘I want this to go here, I want you to do this.’ I like when a artist pushes me how he was pushing me. He doesn’t go easy on me.”
In recent news, Soulja Boy has run into some altercations with the social networking program Twitter. After being the butt end of a joke that became a trending topic on the site, the rapper out of nowhere deleted his account; prompting his fans and the media to think that it was because of the joke.
But Soulja Boy has now announced that he did not try quit the microblogging site but rather changed the user name and had it verified. “Shoutout to all the media sites that posted I deleted my twitter becuz of a dumb ass trending topic lol basic asses thanks for the promo,” he said in one of his new tweets. The trending topic he is referring to is #ifSouljaBoysARapper which led to such posts as “then Windows 7 was really my idea” and “then Louis Vuitton is bought at the thrift store.”
