Pop Princess Rihanna, 21, may have to testify against Ex- Boyfriend Chris Brown felony assault case. Nearly four months after the February 8, 2009 incident, Rihanna will have to speak in public about the alleged assault she sustained during an altercation with Brown.
After a short hearing on Thursday, May 28, 2009 Rihanna’s attorney Donald Etra confirmed that the singer was ordered to appear in court next month. “The judge advised me that there will be a subpoena for Rihanna as a witness at the preliminary hearing”, Etra told reporters outside the courtroom.
“She absolutely will comply,” added Etra.
Beyond the subpoenas and the official preliminary hearing, Rihanna will have to face Brown on June 22, 2009 in court to determine if there’s enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
Brown, 20, has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which carry up to four years and eight months in prison.
