Rihanna’s grandmother, Clara “Dolly” Braithwaite, died on June 30 after a long battle with cancer. The Bajan beauty canceled a scheduled performance at Spain’s Rock in Rio festival and on July 3 boarded a private jet to attend her grandmother’s funeral in Barbados.
Following a disastrous show in Sweden last Saturday, which had many fans complaining and alleging that the star was intoxicated on stage, Riri posted on her Twitter page “Coming home to squeeze ya mama” and “Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you,” along with multiple pictures.
Even former boyfriend Chris Brown gave his condolences on the social networking site, writing “Praying for family and the lost loved one. She was like my grandmother. Love you GRAN GRAN! RIP.”
Brown’s mother, Joyce Hawkins, then tweeted “Angel may God be with you and your family in your time of sorrow. Love you angel.”
Rihanna replied “Thank you! Love u mama.”
