Good-girl-gone-bad Rihanna has released the album cover for her upcoming album, “Rated R.” As more proof that the “Russian Roulette” singer is no longer making ‘music of the sun,’ the black and white cover features a close-up of a leather-clad Rihanna who is adorned with dark, heavy make-up. She holds her right hand over her right eye while her left gives a piercing glare. The letter “R” appears in the right hand corner of the cover and looks like it was etched out with a razor blade.
The album cover photo was shot by photographer Ellen von Unwerth. Unwerth, who is an accomplished fashion photographer, described Rihanna as “fantastic to work with – very giving, very creative, very involved in every aspect of the shoot, and ready to push the boundaries,” according to popeater.com.
