Florida rapper Rick Ross has moved the release date of his new album Trilla to ’08.
According to Billboard, the second album which should be released December 18 will hit the shelves on February 19th.
Why?
Maybe the first single of the album, “Speedin'” featuring R. Kelly, which hasn’t made it explains is the reason.
The single past to #76 on the charts, so the label is reportedly giving Rick Ross some more time to work on the album.
The rapper explained in these words: “The album is like [Michael Jackson’s] Thriller but you know we had to put that trill on it,” Ross recently said when explaining the title of the disc. “You know the definition of trill means realer than the fake.”
The disc is the follow-up to his 2006 debut, “Port of Miami”, via Slip-N-Slide/Def Jam.
The album features many artistes like Jay-Z, Lil’ Wayne, Trick Daddy Akon, T-Pain and Floetry’s Marsha Ambrosius. On the production side of things, The Runners, DJ Toomp and Cool and Dre all came through to bless the disc.
Rick’s gangster-themed documentary, “M.I. Yayo”, was supposed to drop alongside Trilla.
But no word whether the DVD will be pushed back as well.
