R&B singer, R. Kelly held a concert last week on January 29th in East Africa, Uganda. The “I Believe” concert which took place at the Lugogo Cricket Oval was attended by close to 40,000 people.
R. Kelly was brought to Uganda by Zain telecommunications, that has been running a campaign called “I Believe” which aims to instill the idea that this world is wonderful with endless possibilities. The company was proud to have R. Kelly associated with their brand.
Screaming fans were excited to see the man who brewed hits like “Thank God It’s Friday” and party songs like “Fiesta.” R. Kelly could not perform all his songs but selected the hit songs that he felt would be crowd pleasers. He spoke about his phobia of flights before he sang, “I Believe I Can Fly.” The fans went crazy when he moved on to his slower songs like “Bump N Grind.”
By the end of the night, one lucky person won R. Kelly’s Range Rover and Zain gave other prizes away. This is R. Kelly’s second visit to Africa. Last year, he performed in South Africa’s “Arise African Fashion Awards” in Johannesburg.
