The self-proclaimed Queen of All Media, blogger Perez Hilton, cried foul this week after he was allegedly assaulted by Black Eyed Peas manager Liborio “Polo” Molina, in Toronto, after the ‘Much Music Video Awards’ on Sunday, June 21st. Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, took to his twitter page presumably hoping that followers would contact police. “I was assaulted by will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke,” Hilton tweeted.
will.i.am denied fault in his own post, asserting that Hilton was assaulted by an overzealous fan. Hilton later posted a video on his own website, giving a detailed account of the situation. The hysteric, 12 minute rant ended with a shaken Hilton in tears. In the video, Hilton acknowledges that he maliciously called will.i.am “f****t.” He also says he was punched in the face by Black Eyed Peas manager Molina, who has since been charged with assault.
The altercation allegedly escalated after Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie approached Hilton to discuss negative blog comments. will.i.am later approached Hilton and the chaos ensued.
We learned today, June 25, that the celebrity blogger sued the Peas’ manager battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He is seeking unspecified damages in excess of $25,000
On the other hand, GLAAD, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, has requested a public apology from Hilton for his use of a homophobic slur. GLAAD also asserts that they do not condone violence under any circumstances.
Hilton has been in headlines recently for his strong criticisms of former Miss California USA, Carrie Prejean, who expressed her disapproval of gay marriage during the Miss USA 2009 pageant.
