South-African paralympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius has been included in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world. In 2011, Pistorius was the first amputee to win a medal in a competition against able-bodied athletes with the South-African 4×400 relay team at the Daegu World Championships.
For Time’s sports columnist, he’s « the definition of global inspiration ». This year, Oscar Pistorius could become the first amputee to compete against able-bodied athletes at the Olympic Games.
