Grace Jones isn’t “Gaga” for the lady
One would think that Grace Jones would embrace the lil’ stylish monster, but just like fellow free spirit M.I.A., she does not want to ride the Gaga train. Check out what Grace had to say about Lady Gaga and her fashion sense: “I really don’t think of her at all. I go about my business. I’ve seen some things she’s worn that I’ve worn, and that does kind of piss me off. I wouldn’t go to see her.”
Lady Gaga actually asked to collaborate with Grace, but this is what she has to say about that: “I’d just prefer to work with someone who is more original and someone who is not copying me, actually.” I wonder how Lady Gaga feels to be shot down by possibly one of her fashion leaders?
Shyne is a new man
Eskay of Nahright.com (one of the highly ranked hip-hop blogs in the U.S), recently spoke to former Bad Boy artist Shyne and received the bottom line about his voice and style change. Read what Eskay had to say on Shyne’s behalf: “Ok, so I just had a conversation with Po. He wanted to explain why there’s been such a drastic change in his rhyme style/flow since his release from prison. I was going to wait until the next time he leaked a track, but I mentioned it on Twitter, and people were asking for an explanation, so here goes.
Here’s the gist of it: “That guy we used to know pre-2001? The guy who shot up the club? The guy who stood in front of the judge and took a 10 year bid? The guy who used to spit like this?
That guy is dead.
That was the guy Jamal Barrow used to be, and he no longer wants to be that man. That man made choices that he’ll have to deal with for the rest of his life, and put his mother through one of the worst experiences any mother could ever have to go through. And he doesn’t want to be that man anymore.
He explained, in no uncertain terms, that in order for him to move forward with his life, and stay on the right path, he feels, he needs to make drastic changes, and the flow you hear now, is just a small part of that.
So the Shyne you hear now, like it or not, for better or for worse, is the Shyne we’ll be hearing from here out. You don’t have to like it, but I think you have to respect it.”
Nuff said right? Will the people respect it, or keep teasing him about his recent freestyles…ie “Rude Boy?”
Lupe Fiasco and Murs are rockstars?
Based off the recent shows Lupe Fiasco has been putting with B.o.B., some say that his performances hint that he may be swinging over to the rock genre. As far as Murs is concerned, he’s noted to be taking part of a punk rock band. I won’t be surprised if Lupe turns over… I just hope he doesn’t leave hip-hop completely behind. Well then again, if Lupe is really going to pursue that “super crew” with B.oB. J.Cole, Diggy Simmons, Wale and others, then the whole rock gig is certainly a hoax.
Lauryn Hill returns to hip-hop?
No, your eyes are not deceiving you. Spotted down by TMZ, Lauryn Hill hinted that she “maybe” returning back to the game with some new music. *drops the mic and exits the stage* Hopefully this is true!
Loosie Rumors
To feed off of the Lauryn Hill rumor, this next one may put hope in hip-hop fans hearts. Fresh out of jail, the voice behind legendary R&B group The Isley Brothers, Ron Isley, is noted to be working on some music which is noted to feature Rick Ross, T.I., and Lauryn Hill. Rihanna may be starting her own clothing line with a gang of people from Europe. No name for the line or further details has leaked yet. Though they haven’t been married long, Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey renewed their wedding vows again. Known primarily for his time as the drummer for rock band Blink 182, Travis Barker is noted to be producing the whole upcoming Paul Wall album. Since the release of his latest video “Holla at Me” featuring Young Money’s Tyga, Chris Brown been examined up and down to be a rapper convert- and indeed, he is. Chris Brown is noted to working on a new album which shall feature him spitting bars. I think Chris Brown will be the younger version of Drake, who also raps and sings… do you guys feel the comparisons coming along?
