During her first ever performance in Jamaica, Young Money representa Nicki Minaj fined $1,000 dollars, which rounds out to be about $11 American dollars, for violating the country’s decency law during the closing night of the annual Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay on Saturday, July 23. According to reports, she was fined due to an obscenities-laced performance that violated Jamaica’s law against foul language in live performances. But Minaj didn’t let the fine damper her night. She later tweeted, “OMG!!! I swear I just had the TIME of my LIFE @ ReggaeSumFest in JAMAICA!!!!! Jamaica I fell in love tonite! WOWWW!!!!” The fine was paid by her attorney Hugh Thompson, who entered an ex parte guilty plea on behalf of Minaj.
