The R&B singer and songwriter Ne-Yo and his girlfriend welcomed the birth of his daughter this past weekend.
Madilyn Grace Smith was born two months premature in an Atlanta hospital on Friday night after Ne-Yo’s girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw, went into labor. The mother and the baby are said to be fine, according to a report.
The first-time father tweeted his baby news and addressed his excitement.
“As my life transforms due to the new life that sprung up on me last night, it’s good to know my folks support. Luv y’all,” Ne-Yo wrote.
He continued to write about his newborn daughter. “Welcoming that lil’ girl to the world last night defined for me what ‘willing to kill and die for’ truly means. My world, my life, all hers,” he wrote.
