Talk about fashionably late. Following three days of delays that left both fans and the press on edge, Ne-Yo finally touched down in South Africa just in time for his first ever set of performances in the country. To fans’ delight, the multi-talented singer headlined two separate shows.
Ne-Yo’s first stop was the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg on May 1. Last minute concert addition Brian Temba, a South African R&B star himself, joined two more of South Africa’s finest, rapper JR and hip-hop duo Loose Cannons, as opening acts. On May 4, Ne-Yo and crew moved on to Bellville Velodome in Cape Town. By the next night, Ne-Yo was gushing about his trip via Twitter. “I had an amazing time in South Africa. Thank you for having me,” he tweeted.
