Over the past few months Nas has stirred up controversy in anticipation of his eighth studio album called “Nigger.” The MC recently told MTV that he was being pressured to change the title.
A representative for Def Jam records has confirmed that Nas’ controversially named new album, “Nigger,” has been changed to an untitled project.
“The people will always know what the real title of this album is and what to call it,” Nas said in a statement. “It’s important to me that this album gets to the fans…It’s been a long time coming. I want my fans to know that creatively and lyrically, they can expect the same content and the same messages. It’s that important.”
The newly named album was originally scheduled to be released in April, but with recent material from the project leaking on the Internet, the album is now set to hit stores July 1st.
