Johannesburg – Song Catcher and Founder of ALTBLK, Msaki, announces the release of her upcoming double album with a cohort of producers and contributors showcasing both sides of this prolific writer, singer, and activist. She honours her fans from both her acoustic singer-songwriter circles and fans of her dance music hits by announcing a double album which will be out on 19 November 2021.
Each album will have 18 tracks which makes it a mammoth 36 track double album. Msaki collaborates with a rich and diverse pool of co-writers, producers, and voices. Among the voices includes the likes of TRESOR, Simmy, Kid X, Beatenberg, Nonku Phiri, Focalistic, The Brother Moves On, Black Motion, Thesis ZA and more. With Neo Muyanga, Sun-EL Musician, Kenza, Diplo, Kabza De Small, Abidoza, Major League DJz and Black Coffee joining the list of producers.
“The folk singer-songwriter side of me and the dance electro house, if broken down to its elements, are all the same. I’m in no conflict in the two worlds and I am becoming more comfortable with their interchangeability and being their synthesis point,” shares Msaki.
About her collaborators, she says: “They have encouraged me to build a home and say something like myself. This is how I find myself with two projects in one. It’s strange because this has always felt like two works emotionally.”

The first single for pre-add on this album is Mntakababa featuring Kabza De Small and Focalistic – A song about homecoming and aspiration. An elder sibling speaks to their younger sibling about bringing them new clothes, inspiration, and assurance that they will overcome their struggles.
The collaboration with Kabza De Small and Focalistic was an organic and magical moment. The story unfolded seamlessly as the synergy between these three musicians.
