Two Olympic gold medals, and a European 5,000 m win in Helsinki weren’t enough; British distance runner Mo Farah has chalked up yet another victory.
The 29-year-old has been named the European Athlete of the Year by the European Athletics Association. The champion had already won award in 2011.
Fans, media and European Athletics Member Federations voted online to select the year’s most outstanding athlete.
An official ceremony honouring the first man to simultaneously hold the triumvirate of European, world and Olympic titles in the 5,000 m will take place in Malta, on Saturday October 13.
