Method Man

Method Man, a member of the legendary New York crew Wu-Tang Clan, has reportedly been arrested on Monday, October 5. He is facing tax-evasion charges, after failing to pay about $33,000 in personal income taxes, officials said.

The rapper, born Clifford Smith, turned himself in to Staten Island authorities around 8 a.m. this morning.

Meth’s tax-related issues were made public a few months ago, when the MC joked in an interview with worldstarhiphop.com about not paying his taxes because he was high. Official sources alleged that Smith, 38, didn’t file New York State Income Tax Returns from 2004 through 2007, failing to pay $32,799 in personal income taxes during that time.

It is not the first time that Method Man is in legal trouble for tax-related issues. In March 2009, his Lincoln Navigator was repossessed by the Department of Taxation after he reportedly failed to pay $52,503 in back taxes.

At press time no further information was available. Developing story…
