Canadian artist Melanie Fiona whose voice will remind you of Amy Winehouse is definitely the foundation of what fresh music represents.

Fiona, 25, a mix of Black, Indian and Portuguese was born from Guyanese parents and raised in Toronto. She has also written for many other recording artists (Rihanna’s sophomore album, Heather Headley…) and written songs for the soundtracks of “Shrek 3” and “Seat Fillers”. Fiona edgy style is fused with her own West Indian culture and R&B tone in order to deliver one captivating and exciting sound. So it’s was not a surprise to see that Kanye West handpicked her to open on his European, “Glow in The Dark Tour” last fall.
