Pop diva Mariah Carey has announced that she’s pregnant. Her statement today (Oct. 28) that she’s expecting her first child with husband Nick Cannon came after months of speculation on gossip websites about her pregnancy.
“Yes, we’re pregnant, this is true. It’s still early, we’re expecting in the spring,” said Mariah.
“It’s been a long journey, but it’s been tough because I’ve been trying to hold onto a shred of privacy. And that was not easy.”
The star couple appeared on America’s “Today” show talking about their new journey to become parents. The couple admitted Mariah suffered a miscarriage early in their attempts to have children, but the experience drew them closer, which made today’s announcement all the more special.
“It’s absolutely emotional, but for so many reasons,” he shared. “The greatest gift on earth is a child.”
Seems like the timing is perfect for this celebrity couple!
