Well we all know there is only one man known worldwide to possess the ‘Hand of God’, Diego Maradona. The term has been with him since his handball in the 1986 World Cup helped dump England out of the tournament. So imagine our surprise to discover that Diego Maradona now has a rival to this claim.
Maradona attended the Manchester City vs Manchester Utd game on Monday evening, where he saw his son-in-law Sergio Aguero help defeat United with a one-nil victory. After the game, Maradona was introduced to Liam Gallagher, the infamous former lead singer of Brit super-group Oasis who is a massive Manchester City fan. A photograph was taken of the two as they greeted each other. Gallagher then cheekily took to Twitter and tweeted: ‘Maradona shakes the hand of God’!
Perhaps this was Gallagher’s attempt at revenge for the 1986 defeat that broke the heart of many English fans including himself. You would have thought he would have forgotten about it after 26 years!
