Known for his often controversial declarations regarding the rap industry, Lupe Fiasco made yet another statement recently – this time, however, no one was on the receiving end. In a startling turn of events, the Chicago native announced that he would be ending his musical career.
Although currently busy preparing for the release of the follow-up to his 2011 album “Lasers”, Lupe has appeared highly pessimistic about the rap industry of late. On September 5, he finally tweeted:
“This album will probably be my last”.
He also thanked the people who had supported him along the way:
« It’s been a pleasure to have all my fans provide so much love and inspiration for me and my family ».
While “Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1” is set to drop later this month, Lupe is already making plans for the future and considering pursuing a career in literature, his “first love”, as he calls it.
