After a two year hiatus, Ludacris is set to release his new album “Battle of the Sexes” on March 9, 2010. The Atlanta-based rapper, seventh album studio, produced by T-Minus, Bangladesh, Swizz Beatz, J.U.S.T.I.C.E League and The Neptunes will engage Ludacris in a lyrical battle against some of the best female emcees.
The album, which was supposed to be a “Battle of the Sexes” between Ludacris and then label-mate, Shawnna who split from Disturbing tha Peace in 2009 and now signed to Nappy Boy Entertainment, will now include guest appearances by fellow rappers Nicki Minaj, Lil Kim, Trina, Eve, Flo Rida, Plies and R&B singers Ciara, Ne-Yo and Monica.
Upon its release on December 2009, “How Low” the lead single debuted at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100, selling 93,000 units in the U.S. It was Ludacris biggest debut on the chart and his first appearance into the top twenty since 2007. “How Low” currently sits at #10 on the charts and has sold over 800,000 copies.
Throughout his career, the MC has sold over 17 million albums in the United States and 24 million records worldwide. Let’s hope that Ludacris waging war on the opposite sex will deliver something new that will encourage his fans to engage in his “Battle of the Sexes” experiment.
