Lil’ Wayne’s highly anticipated fourth-consecutive album, “Tha Carter IV”, now has an official release date: May 16, 2011. He announced the date during the opening night of his “I Am Music II” tour in Rhode Island.
“Tha Carter IV is done,” Wayne recently declared. “All they need to do is tell Tez [manager Cortez Bryant] to stop sitting on it. Tez, stop sitting on Tha Carter IV and put the album out.”
The anticipated album will be Weezy’s first official release since serving eight months in jail and being set free from Rikers Island back in November.
The album’s lead single and first video is the Bangladesh-produced “6 Foot 7 Foot,” featuring Young Money artist Cory Gunz.
