It’s official: Lil Wayne is a father, again! And this time, it’s R&B singer Nivea who gave birth to a little boy named Neal last Monday, November 30th, 2009. Mack Maine, chairman of Wayne’s label Young Money, was the first to announce it on Twitter: “Thank you God. Baby Neal was born healthy.”
But Neal is far from being the first child of the proud parents, both aged 27. Indeed, Lil Wayne is already the father of Reginae, 12, born from his union with ex-wife and reality star Toya; Dwayne Carter III, his baby boy born in 2008 from a non-famous mother, and Lennox, actress Lauren London’s baby, born last September. Yes, only two months before young Neal…
And Nivea is no beginner herself. She already has three children with producer/singer The-Dream, who is also expecting a baby with R&B-singer Christina Milan… Hard to follow!
In related news, Lil Wayne is – as usual – keeping himself busy with his music. His long delayed rock debut “Rebirth” is finally slated for a December 21st release, right on time for holiday season shopping. The album will feature guest appearances by Fall Out Boy and Lenny Kravitz, among other major rock acts. As for the hip hop side, so far only Eminem has been confirmed for collaboration on a track titled “Drop The World.”
“Rebirth” should hit stores alongside “We Are Young Money,” the collaboration album from Weezy’s label. With such a star-studded roster including Drake, Nicki Minaj and Jae Millz, there’s no doubt both albums will find their way up the charts: they already prove their hit-making capacities with the smash single “Every Girl.” Despite a previous announcement by Cash Money’s CEO Baby, the two albums will be distributed separately.
So, is Lil Wayne hyperactive or something? The self-proclaimed “best rapper alive” has always been an extremely productive artist. But this time, there’s a deadline looming ahead that might urge Wayne to release as much material as possible while he’s still able to… Indeed, in January 2010 the New-Orleans MC will begin serving a 1-year bid in a New York jail, as a sentence for a gun possession charge stemming from a 2007 incident after a show in Manhattan.
Not the best way to build a family but hey, Lil Wayne is not the average daddy…
