It’s been a year now since Lil’ Wayne dropped his triple-platinum album “Tha Carter III.” A year during which Weezy and his Young Money crew maintained a high pressure on the industry, through an overwhelming number of featurings and appearances. Also a year without a new official mixtape from the Cash Money superstar, whose reputation as one of the hottest MCs in the game is largely based on his extensive use of mixtapes to generate a buzz…
But the wait is almost over! The Louisiana rapper is reportedly back at it, and is currently working on a new mixtape named “No Ceiling.” According to long time associate and Young Money exec Mack Maine, Weezy is willing to prove that the huge success of “Tha Carter III” hasn’t slowed his rhymes. In an interview with MTV’s Mixtape Daily, Maine revealed that Wayne has already wrapped up 6 songs, and that the mixtape is expected to drop in December 2009.
The end of the year will be very busy for the Young Money camp: in addition to this mixtape, the label is expected to release the long-awaited rock-influenced album Rebirth, along with the Young Money debut album.
