Lil Jon seems to be doing everything these days. His latest venture is into the world of wine.
According to the Associated Press, the producer/rapper said the new venture, called Little Jonathan Winery, just presented itself and he went with it. So far it’s been successful for him.
“It kind of came out of nowhere,” Lil Jon told the AP. “We were just going to do some private label stuff (for parties) and we did it, and people was like, ‘Hey, it’s pretty nice.'”
Despite producing wine, Jon admits he’s no expert of the drink, he just likes “the taste.” He does, however, like white and dessert wines.
His label is made by Alison Crowe in California.
Jon said he’s really trying to push the wine label as something upscale. “My full name is Jonathan,” he said. “The wine is more nature: I wanted to not just have a direct connection, but make it just a little bit more upscale than regular ‘Lil Jon.’ … This is not no ghetto Boone’s Farm; this is some real wine.”
