Lady Gaga is set to do what few other artist have done in recent years, sell a million albums in her first week. “Born This Way” will debut at No. 1 on next week’s Billboard charts. Lil Wayne is also a member of the milli club with “Tha Carter III,” which registered 1.005 million copies in June 2008.
The album has been lots of positive criticism. The title track “Born This Way” and subsequent “Judas”, were international hits. “Born This Way” is also the fastest selling song in iTunes history, having sold over a million copies worldwide in the first five days of its release “Judas” topped the Gaon Chart in South Korea, and charted in the top ten of several countries. The release of “The Edge of Glory”, the album’s third single, and “Hair”, the first promotional single, soon followed, along with the other tracks released exclusively on the Internet game Farmville during the week prior to the album’s release.
In other news, Lady Gaga made a grand entrance on “Good Morning America” this morning, May 27, flying into New York City’s Central Park on a zipline to kick off the Summer Concert Series.
