New burgeoning recording singer Kristinia DeBarge is on the verge of making a name for herself. With her fast raising debut single “Goodbye” a sample from the 1969 hit “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” by the group Steam and a fresh timbre that will charm music lovers, DeBarge is no longer a secret.
In addition to her success, her new smash hit “Goodbye” was featured in a Nivea commercial spot that ran from April 6 through July 13th.
“Goodbye” the lead single of her debut album on the new Sodapop Music label was written and produced by music legend Babyface and The Pentagon.
DeBarge, 19, is the daughter of James DeBarge, a founding member of the R&B group DeBarge. She began singing when she was 3 years old, but did not began to take it seriously until she was 12 after finally confessing to her father that she wanted to become a singer.
In 2003, DeBarge was on “American Juniors,” a spin-off of “American Idol,” and was among the 20 finalists. And it was while on tour with her father that she met Babyface who began working with her. In 2009 DeBarge inked a deal with Island/ Def Jam Records. The young singer is also slated to be the opening act of Britney Spears North America“Circus”tour that will start on August 20 in Hamilton, Ontario, and wraps on September 27 in Las Vegas.
Her debut album “Exposed” was released on July 28.
