Kid Sister is yet another talented artist out of Chicago. She makes club rap and her DJ, J2K of Flosstradamus, is her real brother! Together they’re taking the Chicago music scene by storm, rocking parties and causing all-around dancefloor mayhem.
After months of being courted by multiple labels, Kid Sister has announced plans to release her full-length debut KoKo B. Ware via Downtown Records/Fool’s Gold.
An independent record label and music publishing company, Downtown’s roster includes Gnarls Barkley, Mos Def, Spank Rock, Justice and Santogold among others. Downtown Music Publishing owns or controls over 1,500 titles recorded by artists including Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent.
“Kid Sister is one of the most exciting new voices in music today and we are thrilled to welcome her to Downtown,” Josh Deutsch, Chairman/CEO of Downtown Records said via statement. “She is a true artist with a vision, sound and style all her own, and we look forward to tremendous success together.”
Kid Sister hits MTV’s “TRL” stage today (Feb. 28) as part of the show’s “Spankin’ New Ladies Week. A video for her first single “Pro Nails” which features Kanye West is currently in rotation on MTV and BET.
Her debut album Koko B.Ware is scheduled for release in summer 2008.
