Grammy Award-winner Kelly Rowland has landed in Johannesburg! On April 19, the singer touched down on African soil to work on the promotion of the 2010 World Cup theme song, “Everywhere You Go,” with various African artists including Jozi, Slikour, Kwesta and Zuluboy. A music video for the song was shot on April 21.
Excited for her trip, 29-year-old Kelly turned to Twitter to let fans know how she was feeling. “Saying good-bye to Australia…………..Hello South Africa!!!!!!! I’ve not been in forever,” she exclaimed before leaving for the 2010 World Cup host country, “I can’t wait!” The singer had just wrapped up her portion of “Supafest,” an Australian concert tour that also featured Akon, Pitbull, Eve, Jay Sean and Sean Paul, amongst others.
This marks the third time Kelly has traveled to South Africa. As part of the promotion for her latest song, she will tour a variety of South African radio stations. So far, Kelly has tweeted pictures of her in the studios of two stations. She also recently performed “Everywhere You Go” at Turbine Hall in Newtown, alongside many African stars.
Aside from Kelly’s World Cup theme, look out for her upcoming, dance-inspired album, later this year.
