Kelly Rowland

This week marks a major win for former Destiny’s Child Kelly Rowland, who debuted the official 2010 FIFA World Cup theme song in Africa. “Everywhere You Go” made its premiere on radio stations across Africa on Tuesday, April 12th. The song is lead by Ms. Kelly but features a slew of African artists including 2Face, Awadi, Chameleone, Crotale, Jozi, Kwesta, Rola, Samini, Slikour and Zuluboy. Steve Morales, who has also worked with Lil Wayne, Fabolous and Enrique Iglesias, produced the track.

Lately, Kelly has been working in overdrive to make use of her talents. At the end of March, she debuted her new single “Commander” at Miami’s Winter Music Conference. She managed to pick up the slack for fellow headliner Akon, who was a no-show due to a missed flight. “Smooches,” another upbeat track speculated to appear on Kelly’s forthcoming album, leaked on the web last week.

As for the yet-to-be-titled album, Kelly has noted Donna Summer and Diana Ross as inspirations for the dance-heavy record. This marks the singer’s third solo album, though it will be her first project since her split with former manager Matthew Knowles in 2009.
