Last night during the 57th Grammy Awards, Kanye gave us a good joke … or not. The arrogant rapper again tried to steal a prize to an artist.
Remember, in 2009, when during the famous award ceremony video, Kanye had climbed on stage unannounced, interrupting Taylor Swift‘s acceptance speech, sacred for best female video with “You Belong With Me”: “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, and I’m going to let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time”, he had proclaimed. Embarrassed, the young singer was left speechless…This incident earned Kim‘s husband, a stream of criticism …
Kanye, unfortunately, has not learned the lesson and tried to do the same thing again last night! While the singer Beck received the award for best album of the year, outperforming Ed Sheeran‘s X, Sam Smith‘s In The Lonely Hour or Beyoncé‘s eponymous album, Kanye invited himself on stage and tried to say something.. but relented. A gesture that people took with humor and which caused a burst of laughter from the public. Has the rapper, known for his arrogance, miraculously developed a sense of self-mockery? Hmm, not so sure.
Apparently, the singer of “FourFiveSeconds” was annoyed to see again a coveted prize pass in front of his friend Beyonce. Interviewed just after the Awards, he explains his gesture “Beck should’ve given his award to Beyonce,” he launches a perfectly serious tone to presenters embarrassed, as his wife Kim. “I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists, to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more,” he added.
Although the singer has reconciled with Taylor at the ceremony, we are not sure about his acting skills…
