Two great names in the hip-hop industry, Jay-Z and Kanye West, are close to finishing a highly anticipated collaboration, according to the producer on the project, Young Guru.
“Right now, I’m really trying to get Jay and Kanye to hurry up and finish this “Watch the Throne” album because the world needs to hear it,” Guru said in an interview with Vibe.com. “It just needs little tweaks and things like that. But the core of the album is finished.”
The album was supposed to drop at the end of 2010 as an EP. However, “Watch the Throne” became expanded to a full-length album that Kanye said would be released in January of the new year.
A track from the album entitled, “H.A.M.” has already been released online but rapper Talib Kweli said the song isn’t an accurate representation of what is yet to come in the album.
“And they have some types of songs that you would think they might have,” Kweli said. “They really did a good job at covering all aspects, from the songs I’ve heard.”
No release date for “Watch the Throne” has been set yet.
