Kanye West is in the news again and this time it’s not because of his oversized ego!
The rapper’s latest song “Power” featuring Dwele, leaked on the internet on May 28th and is already making a lot of noise. Kanye is currently working on his upcoming studio album “Good Ass Job,” said to be released in September 2010. The rapper/producer’s new project will be the last chapter of a quartet he started in 2004 with “The College Dropout,” and completed throughout the last decade with “Late Registration” and “Graduation.”
After the 2008 unplanned concept album “808s & Heartbreaks” in which Kanye expressed himself through singing and electro-soul, “Power” announces the return of Mr. West as we know him. According to the tribal chants and aggressive flow, the artist should be back to rapping and sampling old records. In other words, Kanye West followed the advice of big brother Jay-Z: Auto-Tune out!
DJ Premier teamed up with West for his latest production, along with other great names such as Q-Tip, RZA, Soulja Boy and Pete Rock. Premier declared in The Red Bulletin: “He’s totally done with electro. You’re gonna be surprised what you hear.” Confirmed guest Drake recently claimed that “Good Ass Job” will be “one of the best hip-hop albums of the last ten years.” While Ye and friends keep on teasing the fans, you can enjoy the vibes of the leaked track which will be available on iTunes on June 8th.
It seems Mr. West is back in business and making sure his name is only mentioned for the right reason: the power of his music. Indeed, rumors say Kanye recently gave now ex-girlfriend Amber Rose a million dollars in hush money to remain silent on their breakup. The rapper’s latest unexpected album “808s & Heartbreaks” was already inspired by a painful love experience. So who knows what will come out of the next one…
