Justin Bieber’s album “Believe” is the year’s biggest debut

Justin Bieber’s third studio album “Believe” sold 374,000 units in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That figure makes the pop star’s LP the biggest debut of the year in the U.S.; the album premiered at number one in 29 other countries as well. Bieber beat Madonna’s “MDNA” which was the previous title holder after it garnered 359,000 sales during its debut week in March.

“Believe” is the 18-year-old’s fourth number one album on the Billboard 200, however Chris Brown’s “Fortune,” which drops next week, may take over the top spot.
