The teen sensation introduced the world to his other half, Shawty Mane, through Twitter. Whether it’s his better half or not is entirely up to listeners.
Justin ‘JBiebs’ Bieber, the 16-year-old pop singer, tweeted about the freestyle, by showing his video and saying, “[speaking] in tongues freestyle.. who knew i could rap lol.. my alter ego rap name is Shawty Mane.. hah”.
Bieber, who was signed with Def Jam Records by R&B singer, Usher Raymond, came out with his own set of rhymes to let the world know that he could not only sing, but also rap. The freestyle titled, “Speaking in Tongues,” is Bieber’s version of the Vado/Cam’Ron track.
Making a few references to pop icons such as Lady Gaga, Bieber also managed to make one of NFL quarterback, Tom Brady, who apparently has a similar hairstyle to Bieber. Shawty Mane tells the quarterback, “Hello Mr. Brady, tell him leave his hair to the guy who sings ‘Baby’.”
Already picked up by the media, the video has already been viewed more than 800,000 times on Tweetvid, and continues to gain more attention. You may or may not like it, but either way, Bieber is here to stay and his rap is just another checkmark on his list of things-to-do.
